Can your website close the deal? Because at the end of the day your website is supposed to make you money, not lose it, right? And if the term “sales” makes you feel super icky -girl you’ve gotta change your mindset around that-blog post coming soon! Your social media channels are ALL about connections, networking and relationship building – AKA marketing. Then sending that traffic to your website.
Picture this…you’ve got tons of followers on Instagram/Pinterest/Facebook, your brand is ON POINT, lots of traffic to your website buuut your bounce rate is still CRAZY high. (If you’re new to all this – the bounce rate is how long someone actually stays on your site). WORSE, there are zero return visitors and no one is buying.
So today I’m sharing a few tips to help you go back and have a good look at your site (or get some other people to do so!) to increase those conversions!
The 5 Second rule doesn’t just apply to that cookie you dropped on the floor, you also have 5 seconds to impress a new visitor and get them to want to stay. When someone lands on your homepage does it clearly state or show what you do and who you help?
What do you want them to do? Make sure it is SUPER easy and obvious to sign up for your email list or contact you. Your messaging is strengthened by strong visuals, but a pretty site doesn’t mean a profitable site.
Do you know where you want them to go? What is the goal of your website? To book more discovery calls? To get more blog traffic? To build your email list? Give them the next logical step to take in the journey of your website.
*HINT: Make sure your call-to-action stands out with a bolder colour or larger font so that their eyes are drawn to it!
3. VALUABLE CONTENT
If you want people to stick around, creating ongoing content series specifically aimed at educating your audience will help you convince audiences that revisiting your site, or better yet, joining your list, is worth it. You can do this in the form of blogs, videos or webinars, etc.
You may have to test out a few things and see what works/what doesn’t work for you! Just keep an eye on your Google Analytics and conversion rates.
