Think your business doesn’t need a website?
Think again.
Even though just taking advantage of social media at first may seem like a great idea, in the long run it can actually hurt your business growth.
It would be impossible to be on social media 24/7 constantly. BUT….your website can be like that 24/7 workaround the clock employee that does the hard stuff for you. Including that whole “make money while you sleep” thing.
đSooo here are a few reasons why your biz needs a website:
Messaging people to let them know your hours/fees/deals/booking calls/booking appointments etc. when your website can do this for you.
48% OF CONSUMERS SAY A WEBSITE IS THE BIGGEST DETERMINANT OF WHETHER THEY THINK A BUSINESS IS CREDIBLE.
A website builds credibility and trust, and is much more professional when being found. If you donât have a website for your business, the chances of showing up on the search engine results page (SERP) are zero. But if you have a site, you can optimize it for search engines, thereby increasing your chances of getting to the top of Google’s search results therefore getting more visibility with potential customers.
Imagine if for some crazy reason Instagram or Facebook or Twitter or Pinterest shut down or your account gets hacked or banned…talk about a BAD day. I’ve seen it happen! But you have zero control over that, however you DO have control over things like your website and email list.
Ninety percent of consumers claim that they look up reviews online and these reviews influence their buying decision.
You could rely on review sites such as FourSquare, Yelp, and others to host reviews for your brand, but you can kill two birds with one stone on your own website by sharing reviews + testimonials.
By having a website you can have your own email [email protected] is more professional and easier to remember. I know you love your [email protected] , but it doesnât really resonate with customers.
P.S. You can always contact me at [email protected] đ
As a small business owner, especially if you’re just starting out, you may be thinking you canât afford a professional website. But you really canât afford NOT to. Although the cost of designing a website varies depending on your needs and your skill level, once itâs up and running, a professional website is worth the initial investment. Once it’s built, all you need to do is renew your hosting + domain yearly.
Compared with the cost of traditional means of advertising, such as newspaper ads, radio commercials, promotional materials and even tradeshows or networking events that often include the cost of a meal or trade tables, when you consider the potential market you can reach with a website, it is a very cost effective way to promote your business long term.
63% OF CONSUMERS USE WEBSITES TO FIND AND ENGAGE WITH BUSINESSES
Numbers don’t lie!. According to LSAâs (Local Search Association) April 2017 report, âThe Digital Consumer Study,â 63 percent of consumers primarily use a companyâs website to find and engage with businesses. Thatâs a pretty big chunk of consumers. Combine that with the fact that 93 percent of online experiences begin with a search engineâyou do the math. Another compelling reason your business needs a website? Research by YellowPages and LSA found that, on average, consumers use approximately three sources before making an individual purchase decision, and 30 percent automatically strike a business from consideration if they donât have a website.
Just a few things to think about before you go relying only on social media for your biz đ.
What are your thoughts? Do you think businesses should have a website? Let me know in the comments!
