It’s been a HOT minute since my last blog post – if we haven’t met before Hi! I’m Jess, Brand & Website Designer for Female Entrepreneurs as well as Social Marketer, Mom & Wifey to a grain farmer (who I met at a country bar believe it or not!) But, I am the type of person who likes to dive right in and give you the good stuff – aka all the content and actionable tips to help you get more traffic, get more leads, sign more clients and make more $ online so I will get right to it!
It’s 2019 and there is ZERO excuse for your website to not look beautiful, professional AND convert visitors into clients or subscribers. So before you launch, please make sure you do these super simple yet very important things!
1. Easy navigation 💻 :
Have you ever been to a site where they have one thousand options at the top in their menu and therefore you have NO clue where to start? Ain’t nobody got time for that 🙅. Having a dropdown menu from larger headings works if you have A TON of content, but if your menu goes ALL the way across the page, people will get overwhelmed.
2. Clear Call-to-Actions
What do you want people to do on your website? Where do you want them to go? Does this translate back to the main goal of your website? PLEASE know the goal of your website. Believe me when I say I know how fun it is to think about your brand colours, pretty graphics and so much more, but why are you launching a website in the first place? To build an email list? To get more clients? ALWAYS keep this in mind.
3. Mobile Friendly 📲:
In 2018, almost 60% of all web searches originated from a mobile device. Therefore, your website must have a great mobile experience. If your site doesn’t work on mobile, that’s potentially 60% of your traffic lost!
4. Easy to Contact You:
There’s nothing worse than searching around a website for how to email or message or book a call with someone! . Have an option right in your menu and you can also include a small one at the very bottom of your pages if you choose!
5. New Info:
Keep your website updated!! if someone comes across your website and the last blog is from a year ago, or your social media links don’t work, they’re going to question how active you really are. Make sure your links work! Check your contact form as well as your subscriber form to make sure they’re going to the right spot. If you are about to launch your site, are thinking about it or maybe already did, check out this post on creating a home page that converts! Let me know below if you’ve got any questions about your website launch! It is a SUPER exciting time and you want to make sure your presence online gets a great first impression!
Cheers! Jess
