Hey gorgeous. I see you. You’re posting on Instagram, doing stories, attempting to figure out reels, throwing hashtags in there when you can and you’re not getting any traction. Exhausting right? You’ve got followers, people asking questions/commenting buuuut no one is hiring you or buying your offer/program/course.
While Instagram is definitely a very visual platform, we have to remember that our words matter too. Captions have gotten WAY longer since when Instagram first started and a one liner was good enough.
So here’s a Sellable Caption Formula for you!
Step 1: Scroll-stopping headline followed by the rest of the caption:
• Pain point 1
• Pain point 2
• Desire 1
• The ask (+ Desire 2)
• The ask explained (+ Desire 3, and 3 Bullet points explaining)
• Qualifier (is this for you?/this is not for you if…)
• The tangible (end result/transformation)
• Call-to-action descriptor (+ 2 points, and Result)
• Reminder Call-to-action
So let’s put it together in an example for you:
Pain Point 1: You don’t have to [do this thing you hate].
Paint Point 2: You won’t be [presenting in a way that feels disingenuous].
Desire 1: You can [do this in a way that is exactly what you want].
The ask: What if I personally helped you [do the exact thing they want] and [niche-specific desire].
The ask broken down further: If you’re a social media manager, I’m looking to help 5 of you in the next 90 days who want to [do this epic thing together AKA your offer] to [achieve this desire].
Bullet Point 1: We’ll do ___________
Bullet Point 2: We’ll map out __________
Bullet Point 3: We’ll support you with___________
Qualify them: If you’ve been [watching my videos/reading my posts/ avoiding doing __________ / need help with ______) I’d love to invite you to [CTA].
The tangible: I’ve opened up 5 spots to work with me before this week is over.
CTA descriptor: On the call, we’ll share [point 1], take a look at [point 2 for your unique needs], and share with you what it would look like for us to work together to [achieve this result].
Let me know if you use this, any feedback and results you get and feel free to put it below if you’ve got questions!
